ARCADIS AYH plc, whose parent company is ARCADIS, an international Dutch multi-disciplinary construction and property consulting organisation, has today announced that it has completed the acquisition of Berkeley Consulting for an undisclosed sum.
The purchase of Berkeley Consulting is in line with the declared strategy by AYH plc, following its acquisition by ARCADIS in summer 2005, to invest further in the UK market by both organic and acquisitive growth.
Berkeley Consulting provides quantity surveying and commercial management services in the infrastructure and energy markets. A substantial proportion of its employees work within project delivery teams integrated into client organisations. Berkeley Consulting employs in excess of 100 people and has offices in London, Camberley, Birmingham and Glasgow.
Peter Vince, ARCADIS AYH Managing Director, commented, "We are delighted with the successful acquisition of Berkeley Consulting which will facilitate an entry into the UK infrastructure market and will enable ARCADIS AYH to connect with the significant resources available within ARCADIS in this sector."
Mark Stayt, Berkeley Consulting Managing Partner, stated, "The negotiations have been ongoing for some time as it was imperative to select the right partner to build upon our successful growth and expansion, whilst providing the platform for the next stage of development." He commented that he had been impressed by how well ARCADIS AYH had been integrated into the ARCADIS organisation. With support from both ARCADIS AYH and ARCADIS Berkeley Consulting will fulfil its ambitions of becoming a major player in the infrastructure market.
Michiel Jaski, ARCADIS Executive Board member, said "We are pleased to have concluded the acquisition by ARCADIS AYH of Berkeley Consulting. It was of strategic importance to acquire expertise in the UK infrastructure market and is a demonstration of our intention to strengthen our overall position in the UK market." He added that he considered that the Executive Board would continue, with the support of ARCADIS AYH, to review further acquisition opportunities in the UK market.
